The Deepening Rift within the Shiite Coordination Framework
The article explores the creation of the Coordination Framework (CF) in 2021, which reflects a political landscape in Iraq characterised by ethnic and religious dynamics. Despite this alliance, internal divisions and power rivalries, particularly surrounding Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, have emerged. Tensions, heightened by the U.S. withdrawal and regional conflicts, suggest increasing instability within the CF and the potential upcoming disintegration of the Shiite alliance.
