The conference is based on a report undertaken by the French Centre for Research on Iraq and funded by Vision Education that analysed women’s conditions of life in Federal Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. It explored the multifaced challenges women in these regions are confronted with, as well as the advancements they have made in terms of empowerment, civil society engagement, and everyday living conditions post-2003. This includes evaluating legislative reforms, economic opportunities, and security measures impacting women’s lives amidst ongoing political and social transformations. The focus of the present conference is to bridge gaps and foster inclusive dialogue to enhance women’s roles and rights in both regions.
